Vintage Mid Century 1955 Sylvania Model R-518 Now A Bluetooth Speaker

This is a 1956 Sylvania radio model R-518 made in Canada. This is what mid century modern radio should look like. Great shape, lines and ready to be converted. The Sylvania was off white broken & cracked. Repaired the damage using epoxy & a few supports. Sanded, primed & painted this very cool deco almost spacey looking radio a  satin teal color. Was able to clean and reuse the original plastic dial not perfect but again original. Really like the gold mirror dial. There were no knobs so I used 2 matching ones from my inventory painted gold to match the dial. Nice looking now. The lines & overall shape make this a classic mid century modern radio almost mid century modern. I like the contrast of the teal with the gold. Reused the original back panel also. On the inside, I installed a new Bluetooth digital stereo hi-fi audio amplifier with 50 watts in addition to a big 4" Jensen Pro multi range speaker. Yes this classic is now a real boom box. This thing sounds great. Installed the on/off/volume switch with the knob on the right. The other is fixed. All of the electronics are hard wired and secured to the inner supports insure a long life.  This is one of a kind Bluetooth speaker that is deco cool. A real conversation piece that makes a grand statement. There is a new electrical plug also. The 1956 Sylvania MCM radio converted to Bluetooth speaker measures 13.5" x 6" x 7" .Will look good, sound great and fit anywhere. Let know if you have any questions.
