Description
Kenji Oshio (real name: Kenji Hatano, January 4, 1948-) is Yahata City, Fukuoka Prefecture (currently Yahatahigashi Ward, Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture). Originally from the 1970s and 1980s, he was a sumo wrestler. During his active career, he belonged to the Tokitsukaze stable, and the highest rank was Higashi Koyui (January 1978). He was 186 cm and 143 kg when he was active. His strong points are four on the left, leaning and thrusting [1].
After retiring, he took the name of the elderly, Shikimori Hidegoro (commonly known as Shikihide), and retired from the Japan Sumo Association from 1992 (1992). He was the master of the Shikihide stable until the moon. [1]
He was a so-called "grandmother", whose parents divorced at an early age and grew up in poverty in a boarding house. He was in the second year of junior high school, was 182.5 cm tall and weighed 75 kg. He was active in basketball at the time, but he happened to win a sumo tournament, which led him to be invited by Kasukawa's master (formerly frontal 1, Soryu). However, at first, when he saw the movie "Wakanohana Monogatari of the Dohyo" (released in 1956), he felt that the world of sumo was a tough world, so he refused, "I absolutely hate it" and "I'm not kidding." He also had a dream of becoming an airplane pilot because he wanted to be a girl. Still, the desire to build a good house for his grandmother made him decide to enter the sumo world. He was so nervous when he sat down in the 12th Tokitsukaze stable and greeted him, so as of 2018, he doesn't remember that time anymore. However, it is said that Tokoyama, who trusts him, took care of the 12th generation Tokitsukaze at that time, and he did not have a new disciple of wrestlers, so the 12th generation Tokitsukaze was inaccessible. The 12th Tokitsuka was a great existence for his disciples, and it was said that the 12th Tokitsuka made the sound of slippers and the sound of opening the entrance, and the surroundings calmed down. [2]
Then he entered the Tokitsukaze stable and stepped on the first bale in January 1962. In his same period, the first bale group includes the later front, Wakayoshiba and others. It is said that 70 to 80 people belonged to the Tokitsukaze stable when he was a new disciple, and he went down to the rehearsal hall from 4 am to secure time for rehearsals. Even so, the situation was different from ordinary wrestlers who graduated from school when they were enrolled in junior high school because they were still in junior high school when they first started. He finished his lessons earlier than his brothers, had the maid eat breakfast in the kitchen, covered it from above and crushed it tightly, and had Dokaben spilled from the bag for lunch. I attended Sumida Ward Ryogoku Junior High School. However, because the teacher knew the situation, he overlooked Hatano, who fell asleep when he was full, and did not wake him up from the doze. Asahikuni is a classmate in both countries, and Asahikuni, who likes sumo, said, "Let's practice. Let's do it in the corridor," even during the lunch break at school. It was like, "Please forgive me."
Under the guidance of Kitabayama, who is his attendant, Hatano honed his skills in sumo, and when he asked for advice on what to do because his armpits would open, he tightened his armpits with a bamboo thumb. Kitabayama taught me how to hit and hit with a gun, and further, "Rubbing the side of the body with the elbow and hitting from the little finger side." Your knees will bend naturally, "he advised. When washing the head of Kitabayama, Hatano thoroughly taught Kitabayama, saying, "From the tip of the hair to the root, tighten the armpits and wash." Hatano recalled that Kitabayama was "a great amount of training and was enthusiastic about research," he said. Hatano also referred to this. Maybe because Hatano knew this, he also experienced several times when he picked up a star with his brave legs while he was active. When Hatano was young, the 12th Tokitsukaze went down to the rehearsal hall around 10 am and taught at the third rehearsals held in Kashiwado, Kitabayama, and Toyoyama, which he often visited during his rehearsals. Since the 12th generation Tokitsukaze is like a god to his disciples, he basically didn't get excited at this time, but when he was on a tour and had no brothers, he was called "Anchan, Koi" and borrowed his chest. There were a couple of times. It was a dream-like experience for Hatano as he was "touched" because he was afraid of the wrestlers below. Hatano is not an eloquent person who teaches something in words to the 12th generation Tokitsukaze. I keep hitting with just my arms. Then the armpits will tighten naturally, and my hands and feet will work together to hit with my entire body. At that time, I was just stunned, but later on. "I've come to understand that," he said, saying that there was a 12th generation Tokitsuka-style idea of "learn for yourself, not to be taught in words." [2]
Although he was called the Hope of the Dojo from the beginning, his career was slow, and he was repeatedly blocked by the upper wall of the Makushita. One of the drawbacks of being a sumo wrestler is that he is too kind, and when he was in junior high school, he pointed to a puddle next to the ring and said, "Teacher, if you throw it here, you won't get wet. Let's stop it." There is an episode of offering. Even so, when he was selected as the representative of the Tokitsukaze stable, which was the feature of the tour at that time, "without five people under the Makushita", his brothers Kitabayama and Tokibayama said, "Oh, you know what happens if you lose." He desperately wrestled because he received words that hinted at a half-life squeeze. [3]
His grandmother in his hometown was also pleased by his neighbors when Hatano in the lower era won, but when he lost, the people around him were careful to avoid him. He was relatively less serious about sumo until the end of the Makushita, but when he heard that story, he felt he had to work harder. The decisive event that Hatano inspired was the death of his grandmother and his master, Tokitsukaze (former yokozuna, Futabayama). More than death itself, the reason for the inspiration was the thought that "I couldn't wear the crest and I felt sorry for myself at the attendance" [Note 1]. From May 1969, Seijiro Oshio (former Sekiwake, 4th Rikuoku boss), who had already retired from the Japan Sumo Association, was asked to take the name of Oshio's Shikona. At that time, when I went to say hello to Seijiro, who lived behind the Ekoin Temple in Ryogoku, with sake, Hatano, who asked me to give up his Shikona name, received a pleasant reply, "Please do your best." [4] [2] ].
He was rigorously instructed when the 14th Tokitsuka, the next generation of the actual 12th Tokitsuka, became a master. As I recall after retirement, I wondered if it was judged that the spring tide, which had the aspect of relying on people immediately because of selfishness, was overlooked. I have been preached, "Move for people, not just for yourself." The 14th Tokitsukaze entered the Kakukai with the title of student yokozuna for the first time when the wind was strong against students from sumo wrestling, and after retiring, the 12th Tokitsukaze was popularly supported as "Kakusei Futabayama". Since he was the successor, he later considered that there might have been unimaginable pressure on the spring tides. By the way, the 14th generation Tokitsukaze was generous with his uchideshi when he was active, and Oshio sometimes envied that he wanted to be his uchideshi. [2]
He overcame that experience and was promoted to Juryo in November 1969 and made a new start in September 1971.
He was good at hitting or poking out from the standing, pointing to the left and approaching at once, but he was often reversed because of his high waist. He won for a moment, but when he lost, he was blown away to the outside of the ring. He said that the opening to the left of him was done with the feeling that his body moved naturally, and that he did not intentionally acquire it through video research etc. after his retirement. After being promoted in the Makuuchi area, Asahikuni, who lived in the same apartment, often falls on the verge of sumo wrestling, but when I asked him what to do, he didn't tell me at all several times, but one day when I met him at Chankoya. Asahikuni, who had liquor in it, told me, "At the brink, sit down and put your right or left foot half a step forward." This led to Venus in the latter half of active duty
For a while after the opening, the round trip between the Makuuchi and Juryo was repeated, but it was finally in the Makuuchi from the place in March 1976, which was the 10th opening to break the record of Wakanokuni (highest rank, 8th front). In November 1977, he defeated Asahikuni, Takanohana, and Wakanokuni in the third position in the front, and won the skill award with 9 wins and 6 losses. In January 1978, he was promoted to his highest rank, Higashi Koyui. [1] The place in November 1977 and the place in January 1978 defeated Takanohana by extruding twice in a row, and it looks like it makes the best use of its own characteristics. Futagoyama, a teenager who was commenting on the broadcast at that time, said, "The spring tide, what is that? ..
He fell to the bottom of the Makushita in July 1979 due to an injury to his leg, but after that, he returned to the Makuuchi with a lot of restraint and effort. At that time, when he returned home, he was inspired by his wife serving better food than in the Makuuchi era. On the other hand, in response to the spring tide, which claims to have been content with the elevator wrestlers due to smoking cessation, his wife said to the spring tide that he was reluctant to practice and was thinking of retiring. If you want to quit, die on the ring, "he scolded, and when he woke up, the spring tide was a heavy drinker, and he completely quit smoking and quit smoking from being a heavy smoker. In order not to forget her vow, the wife arranged the carton of cigarettes smoked by the spring tide in a place where the bed of the spring tide could be seen.
After that, although he could not return to the three roles again, he showed a good fight at the top of the Makuuchi, winning any of Yokozuna / Kitanoumi, Ozeki / Takanosato, Sekiwake / Wakashimazu for 5 consecutive places from July 1982. He has won Venus for two consecutive races, especially from the northern lake. In January 1983, when Venus became Venus from the northern lake for two consecutive places, the efforts on the 7th day of the place allowed the northern lake to point to the left, attracted the upper right hand and ran at a stretch, and cut off the sticky northern lake. It was the content [1] [5]. In one of the two places that robbed Venus from the northern lake, a woman in a sand-covered mouth at the moment of winning Venus was snarling, and this photo is still in the spring tide itself as of 2018 ].
In March 1984, he re-entered at 36 years and 2 months, which was the third-largest re-entry record after the war at that time. Even after he finally fell out of the Makuuchi in May of the same year, he continued to wrestle in Juryo and the top of the Makushita. In 1987, he surpassed the northern lake with his total winning star and became number one in history.
He retired from active duty at the age of 40 after he was in January 1988. In addition, his 1891 No. 1 in the calculation field is the 1st place among all sumo wrestlers [1], the 55 places in Juryo are the 1st place in history (Hachiya), and the 13th promotion in Makuuchi is also the 1st place in history. There is [1]. His total of 964 wins is the fourth record after Hakuho (active) 1120 wins, Kaiou Hiroyuki 1047 wins, and Chiyonofuji 1045 wins. [2] In addition, the total of 927 losses of Kuroboshi is the third place after 944 losses of Asahi Tenpeng and 938 losses of Terao. His 156 active reigns were the number one record for 20 years, from the time he retired to being renewed by Masataka Tochitenk (former Juryo) in 2008. In addition to this, he holds the oldest record of promotion to Juryo (39 years and 5 months).
It was popular for its long sideburns reminiscent of an old samurai, and had a personality in the glares after the witness, which even had a feeling of sadness.
After his retirement, he passed through the elderly, Kouyama, and took the name of Shikimori Hidegoro (Shikihide), and in March 1992 he established the Shikihide stable independently of the Tokitsukaze stable. At the time of its founding, Tokitsukaze in his 14s said, "It's a good thing. You too will be a person who understands the hardships of people." After the room was founded, the Shikihide stable inherited the custom of advocating the three principles of Dojo kun, which Tokitsukaze stable had supported since the days of Tokyo University of Agriculture. [2]
At the November location (Kyushu location) held in his hometown of Fukuoka, he set up a dormitory in his hometown of Kitakyushu, and in 2003, a local supporter set up a permanent dormitory, which is rare in rural areas. Kitakyushu with a disciple of the room before and after the place
