Vintage Deco 1934 Philco Radio Model 84-B Now A Bluetooth Speaker

This is a deco cathedral 1934 Philco radio model 84-B. This is the early version sometimes called the "Baby" .The lines, veneer & overall shape make this a classic deco radio. Normally I am presented with a challenge to start and this was no different. The case was dirty covered with decades of dirt. After removing the mess I found that the beautiful walnut veneers were in ok condition not perfect. Look at the pics. Used fine steel wool with water on the whole case to even up the original varnish. The top and sides required a little sanding. Please look. I try & save some of the original 80 year old finish where possible. I think it is important to retain as much of the original look as possible w/o sacrificing everything. Really love the two tones on the front panel.  Cool.  Put a light gloss lacquer coat over the case to protect the finish. Please look at the pics.  The original  dial was in very good condition. Removed all of the non-working radio components.  Since it had no knobs used 2 matching ones from my inventory and added  a new period correct speaker cloth with some class. Again look at the pics - beautiful . On the inside, I installed a new Bluetooth digital stereo hi-fi audio amplifier with 50 watts in addition to a big 5" Jensen Pro multi range speaker. This is a quality speaker with great sound.  Great bass response. Nice. Installed the on/off/volume switch with the knob under the dial.  The other is fixed. Decided to add a light for the dial to highlight the cool color & details. Installed an on/off switch for the dial light on the back panel. All of the electronics are hard wired and secured to the inner supports insure a long life.  This is one of a kind Bluetooth speaker that is deco cool. A real conversation piece that makes a grand statement. There is a new electrical plug also. The 1934 Philco deco radio converted to Bluetooth speaker measures 14" x 12" x 8" .Will look good, sound great and fit anywhere. Let know if you have any questions. Please look at my other offerings.
