Description
Listing is the 1992 United States National Gallery of Art (DC) Teaching Packet for the one time only exhibit on tour titled "Art of the American Indian Frontier: The Collecting of Chandler and Pohrt".The collection ceased touring in 1994 and the National Gallery of Art no longer hosts Native American Indian exhibits as of 2004, when another national museum opened, with its own artifacts and collections.
The teaching packet was specially created for educators such as teachers and professors to use for their courses. The packet contained a 48-page book-like packet primarily in black & white, 8 study prints also referred to as colorplates, and 20 color projector slides.
According to Worldcat, the worldwide bibliographic database, aside from the one up for bid, there are a
maximum
of 11 copies of the teaching packet catalogued
in the world
. It does not take into account if those copies are intact or available for access.
Therefore, this is the only non-catalogued version spoken for remaining in the world.
The copy up for auction is intact in all aspects with the exception of that there are 3 colorplate study prints of the 8 remaining and that the back of the packet has an approximate 2" rip. Some pages were shot against a white background. They may appear to be at a tilt but that is only an effect of shooting the pages. Please see pictures regarding quality of items.

The packet broadly covers woodlands and plains Native American Indian art from such tribes as the Seneca, the Mesquakie/Fox, the Iowa, the Blackfeet, the Iroquois, the Dakota/Sioux, the Arapaho, the Ottowa, the Chippewa, and others, while also including stories and oral histories.

Regarding international orders, priority mail applies as above regarding the 3-day window for GSP purchasers. I have no control of shipping matters past that point. If you prefer instead for international shipping directly from me to you, please message my account so we can come to a proper agreement before purchase, as I do not have direct international shipment enabled.
