Petty's Rx of Broad Street in Newark New Jersey.
Petty's Rx was based in Newark New Jersey and established in 1883.  In 1939, they were advertising that they had dispensed over 4 million prescriptions.  Based on the writing on the bottom of this jar, we can likely date it to about this time period.
Awesome condition with very minor surface wear.  No cracks or any significant chips to the ceramic.  Only one or 2 very minor micro chips to the bottom outer rim that you can only see on close inspection (see 8th photo).  The material is translucent when held up against the light.  Possible porcelain or  bone china.
Measures approx 3 5/8" wide by 9 1/4" tall (with the lid)
