Description

You are looking at an early 68 dated 427 Chevy 4 bolt main block. Block is cast # 3916321 and cast date H197 which is Aug, 19 1967 for the 68 model year. This block was used from Aug 67 till January 1968. This block is correct for 68 Corvette L68 400 HP, L71 and L89 435HP tri-power, L88 and L72 427 Biscayne, Impala, Camaro Chevelle COPO Motion Yenko Berger etc. The block is currently .060 and has some light pitting in the bores. It will been bored to .090. The bores look fine and does not appear to have been blown up. There are no sleeves. The block has been decked and is missing the suffix code. Please note one heli-o-coil thread repair on head bolt (pictured). This block has been tanked, magnafluxed and shot peened. It checks out good and I guarantee this to be a good, usable block. These blocks are not growing on trees anymore. If this is the date and # you need for your restoration, do not let it get away.
