    Description

This is a original 1967 Small Block Chevy engine block. The casting number is 3892657 and the casting date is D 18 7 as shown.  The casting date decodes as April 18th, 1967. The front pad is BLANK as shown. That's right, the pad still has the factory "broach marks" on the deck surface and the only stamp I see is a crude "T" as shown. This is a very nice original block that would be great for a restoration or hot rod application.
This engine block is in good condition as shown. It was recently taken to the local machine shop to be cleaned and checked for cracks. The block was found to be free of cracks and still standard bore size. The bores do have a ridge on the top from use and one cylinder has some corrosion from water intrusion as shown. The block will need to be bored as part of the rebuild process. This is a great block as a core for a rebuild. As with any core, this engine will need to be machined as part of the rebuild process. This is a great block for a restoration or hot rod build.
