    This great photogravure is entitled "JOSEPH HEAD - PIMA".  It was created by Edward S. Curtis in 1907 as part of his great work
    The North American Indian
    published between 1907 and 1930.  These lovely photogravure images were created for Curtis from his original photographs John Andrew and Son of Boston.  This one depicts an elder of the Akimel O'odham tribe of Arizona.  The impression size is 6.25" x 8.75".  The sheet size is 9.5" x 12 3/8".  The sheet is watermarked HOLLAND for the Holland Van Gelder hand laid paper it's printed on.  We guarantee this to be an original first printing of this beautiful image.
