1880s NATIVE AMERICAN APACHE WOMAN AND CHILD IN CRADLEBOARD CABINET CARD PHOTO

Very rare and original, 1880’s Cabinet Card Photograph of a Native American, Apache Indian Woman with her terrified infant in a cradleboard. This wonderful, period, Card Mount, Photograph measures approx. 3 7/8” by 5 1/2” and is mounted on its original Card Mount (overall size is 4 1/4” by 6 1/2”). Although unmarked, the Photo is attributed by the previous owner to Globe, Arizona photographer Andrew Miller.
The Image features a beautiful, young Apache Woman kneeling on the floor and gently holding gently supporting her young child upright in his cradle board. The toddler has an utterly terrified look on its face and it is quite obvious that the mother is doing all she can to comfort and reassure the child.
This rare and wonderful, Native American Apache Indian, Cabinet Card Photograph is in very good condition. The Photograph is clean and crisp and exhibits sharp focus although it is somewhat light as can be seen in the scans below. The card mount has some edge wear and the back of the mount has some surface thinning and adhesive residue.
